Can You Really Find Great Deals On The Internet?
Most of us want the best deal when it comes to stretching our dollars. But is that deal really so great? Here’s a prime example. A few months back I bid on a beautiful topaz bracelet. I was on a popular bidding site and saw a bracelet tagged at tits original price at 299.99. I won the bid at 19.99 and was thrilled that I had won this 300.00 bracelet for such a great deal. A week later I received this gorgeous bracelet. It was everything that the picture portrayed. In fact, it was prettier in person. I proudly wore my bracelet for around one month until…it broke. I took it to a local jeweler who informed me that it would keep on breaking due to its delicate nature and it wasn’t worth $299.99 at all. It was worth a mere $75.00 if that! Boy was I surprised, and I thought I got a great bargain-NOT! Sometimes the old saying, ’you get what you pay for’ is more true than you think. Oh well, chalk this one up as a lesson learned. However, I must say that not all items I bid on ended up being total disasters. I ordered a topaz necklace from another well known bidding site and this item is not only gorgeous, but it is a great quality item that has stood the test. How much did I pay for my necklace? I think I’ll keep this one a secret, but let’s just say….It was a steal! The same holds true for fences, when your fence falls over because you got a better deal than our price, the fence installer is going to be nowhere to be found to fix the fence just like the Ebay seller was going to take no responsibility to fix the bracelet.

Now let’s move on to other bargains that can be acquired over the internet. When searching for hotels while traveling you can find some awesome deals on the net. You will have to spend a little time doing your research, but you will find some great bargains with a little patience on your part. Pay attention to third parties such as Expedia.com. If you go through them you can save 10-20% for your stay, and every little bit you save counts. But you’ll also need to read the hotel reviews. You don’t want to end up sleeping with uninvited guests that creep and crawl through the night. Sometimes that deal comes with a cost. Not to say you can’t find a great hotel that will be easy on your wallet, but it’s best to take your time while researching for the best bargain!

Traveling by air? I put the bargain flight hunt to the test. After a couple of hours searching on several third party sights I came up with the same price for the airline I was interested in. And as far as I was concerned, these offers weren’t saving me one red cent. These prices were burning a new hole in my pocket! My plans shifted from flying to driving to Florida. Last February Bath and Body Works still had plenty of items left over from their January semi-annual sale and I bought some awesome candles at 90% off! I was so thrilled I could hardly believe the deal I got that day!

And when it comes to clothes, you can get some great deals too! Macy’s had an after Christmas sale that rocked my world. I bought some black skinny jeans for 9.99. Include the tax and that adds up to a little over ten bucks. Oh, did I forget to mention that shipping was free? But buyer beware-if you aren’t familiar with the clothing company your purchasing from, your new clothing item can turn out to be nothing like you expected! I ordered a gorgeous winter hat from a company out of Japan. I loved this hat and didn’t care whether it was from Guam. I wanted the hat and that was that. The hat arrived in a timely fashion and it was simply gorgeous! The only problem was that it was way too big! Buying a fence online is different than buying tangible goods. The fence is built and put together on your property picket by picket and all the materials come from the same suppliers.
